Past Experience and Responsibilities

In 2011 Newton graduated from Humber College’s Bachelor of Applied Arts degree program in Paralegal Studies with Honours. After completing his studies, he was employed with a medium-sized law firm in their debt collection department. Throughout his professional career he has assisted the public by preparing affidavits, books of authorities, discoveries, several judicial reviews, motions, settlement conferences and trials. He is an Appointed Commissioner for taking Affidavits in Ontario.

We are regulated by the Law Society of Ontario (LSUC) and must adhere to the same rules as lawyers. For example, we must follow the same professional and ethical standards. Additionally we are also insured against errors and omissions.

It is important to note that a lawyer may also assist you in these types of matters. However, we are more cost effective. For example, a lawyer may charge hourly, whereas we charge a flat rate for our services. Moreover, we generally have a better understanding of the process and expectations in these courts and tribunals.
